Since December 2020, HMLP has held or participated in over 40 public outreach meetings or events regarding the proposed HMLP Reliability Project, including multiple Open Houses in both Hingham and Weymouth, two official public hearings of the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board in the affected communities, as well as meetings with local officials, boards, and committees from both towns.  Additionally, HMLP has informed the public about the HMLP Reliability Project and related milestones and events through periodic General Manager Updates, Media Releases, mailings, and presentations at public meetings of the Hingham Select Board, Zoning Board, Planning Board, and Advisory Committee.

Moving forward, prior to the commencement of construction for this project, HMLP will host informational Open Houses in both Hingham and Weymouth to inform residents on what to expect during the construction phase.  HMLP will also launch a Community Outreach Plan throughout construction that will publicize construction schedules and anticipated traffic impacts on an ongoing basis through media releases, direct mail to abutters, General Manager Updates, a dedicated section on the front project webpage, and door to door notification where necessary.  Once construction has begun, a dedicated project liaison will be available for public inquiries as well.
