Citizens of Hingham have control over how their utility is run by electing a three-member Light Board to set company policy. Current board members include: Laura M. Burns, Chair; Michael Reive, Vice Chair; and Tyler Herrald.

HMLP works diligently to provide all of its customers with affordable, safe, reliable, and resilient electric service on demand at a competitive price. As a public power entity, HMLP strives to be a thoughtful community partner that supports its ratepayers and the Town in its goals.

HMLP celebrates over a century of service to the people of Hingham. HMLP is a proud community-owned public power utility with a 130-year tradition of local control and local service. We are grateful for the opportunity to carry on that tradition.

It is the mission of HMLP to provide reliable electric service to the Town of Hingham while keeping rates reasonable, service quality high and operations environmentally sustainable, including a commitment to 100 percent carbon-free energy.
